- Tell us a bit more about yourself, your background and what you’re doing now.
I am a first-generation Singaporean, with roots from Chennai, India. Trained as a biomedical engineer, I have worked across different projects and functions in healthcare from government to medical devices and pharmaceuticals. Currently, I am helping advise pharmaceutical companies in the Asia Pacific on their digital transformation strategies and engagement activities at Ogilvy Consulting. Along with this, I have a full-time job as a mom to an energetic 1.5-year-old son! 🙂
- How did you get involved with digital health?
During my MBA at London Business School, I was part of the Healthcare Club, helping to organize the HealthTech Challenge. This helped me to get a better understanding of the new digital health technologies that companies were trying to build and commercialize. Post MBA, I worked in Eli Lilly where I also helped to manage some of the digital marketing initiatives as part of diabetes brand management. Then, I got the opportunity to work in an exciting start-up in the migraine space, called Healint to do project management. Currently, I am helping to lead digital transformation projects with pharmaceutical companies at Ogilvy Consulting.
- Tell us about where you come from and some of the health and technology innovation that’s happening there.
Singapore is a hotbed for new innovation. There are various start-ups looking at amazing digital technologies from prediction to AI to chatbots. Singapore is also a nice gateway to Asia-Pacific, with a 7-hour radius to the rest of countries.
