by Dan Kendall | Jan 25, 2017

Dr. Brennan Spiegel (@BrennanSpiegel) of Cedars-Sinai and Dr. Justin Barad (@jbhungry) of OssoVR present applications of Virtual Reality in health.

Dr. Barad is an orthopedic surgeon and founder of Osso VR. At the CES event, Dr. Barad demonstrated a tibial nail procedure, just one of a range of procedures that residents, as well as more experienced surgeons, can use to “warm up” for their procedures. Osso VR is currently focused on the orthopedic market but plans to expand into other specialties and procedures.

Dr. Spiegel is the director of Cedars-Sinai Health Services Research. At the Digital Health summit (a part of CES 2017 in Las Vegas), Dr. Spiegel explains the tremendous power of virtual reality technology to transport patients out of their ‘bio-psycho-social jailcell'.
